O 1º Encontro
Fluminense de Mulheres em Biomatemática, propõe o debate
sobre a desigualdade de gênero na matemática e divulga o
trabalho realizado por pesquisadoras fluminenses em
biomatemática. Com objetivo de atrair mulheres a atuar
não só em Biomatemática, mas na matemática e nas
ciências em geral, o evento é uma oportunidade
para se conhecer o que as pesquisadoras fluminenses
fazem, pensam e propõem para solucionar problemas que
afetam a população de nosso Estado, como o controle de
epidemias como a de febre amarela e da H1N1, controle do
Aedes Aegypti, controle do HIV e combate ao câncer.

The 1st Fluminense Meeting of Women in Biomathematics,
proposes the debate on gender inequality in mathematics
and disseminates the work carried out by female
researchers in biomathematics. With the objective of
attracting women to work not only in Biomathematics, but
in mathematics and sciences in general, the event is an
opportunity to get acquainted with what researchers in
Rio do, think and propose to solve problems that affect
the population of our State, such as the control of
epidemics such as yellow fever and H1N1, Aedes Aegypti
control, HIV control and cancer control.
